Kari W. Cole

Kari is a 2016 Romance Writers of America Golden Heart® finalist and the 2015 Daphne du Maurier winner. She lives in Upstate New York with her college-sweetheart, two way-too-smart-for-their-own-good sons, and a ridiculous labradoodle named for the bravest of Star Wars heroes, Artoo. She has a MBA from the State University of New York at Buffalo and has worked in sales and marketing for not-for-profits and an internet start-up.

After the internet bubble burst, Kari found herself out of work and a stay-at-home mom. To keep her sanity, she turned to writing. (There is only so much Thomas the Tank Engine one woman can take.)

She started with fan fiction and moved on to stories for her sons and nephews. These involved super-kids, flying Chihuahua puppies, and a flatulent dinosaur king. The boys ate these tales up and she was officially addicted. She still dreams of the day Joss Whedon calls to discuss her most excellent idea for a Highlander/Buffy the Vampire Slayer mash-up.

Kari belongs to the Romance Writers of America and loves her local chapters. Currently, she writes paranormal and contemporary romance, romantic suspense, and urban fantasy, though she does entertain the notion of some more adventures with flying Chihuahuas and digestively-challenged dinosaurs.
